When a door will not let you in or will not lock behind you, call us at any hour and we come out.
Which problems count as an emergency?
Anything that leaves you stuck outside or leaves a door you cannot secure. That means a lockout at your apartment, building, or shop, a snapped key, or a lock that quit working with the door shut. Give us the address and we head over from University Avenue.
What do these calls usually sound like?
- You stepped into the hallway and the door shut with your keys inside.
- Half of your key is still in the cylinder.
- The key turns all the way around and nothing moves.
- Your shop door will not lock and it is time to close.
- You lost your keys tonight and want the lock changed before you go to bed.
How do you get the door open?
We try the least damaging way first. Drilling is the last choice, and we tell you before we do it. If the lock has to come out, we can usually put in a new one before we leave.
What should I have ready when I call?
Your address and apartment number, which door it is, and a photo of the lock if your phone is with you. Most apartment doors around here have one tall brass plate with a key cylinder above a knob. If yours looks like that, tell us.
What happens on the job?
Your call and your photo tell us which parts to bring. When we get to the door, we point out what is worn or broken and tell you what we plan to do. Then we do the work and try every lock and key with you before we pack up.
Questions we get
Do you take calls in the middle of the night?
Yes. Our phone line is open 24/7, and a lockout at night is ordinary work for us.
Can I get a new lock on the same visit?
In most cases, yes. Say so on the phone and we bring one, or bring what we need to rekey the lock you have.
